The following manuscript is a receipt for Thomas and James Bull who purchased land from John Wyles, Sr. in 1796.
“Know all men by these Present that we Michael and Thomas Bull and James Bull of the City County of Hartford are held firmly bound to John Wyles of East Hartford in the sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars for the payment of which sum to the said John Wyles. We bind ourselves, our Heir, Executors and Administrators firmly by there presents ___ our hands seals this 6th day of February 1796.”
